Hi Folks, Welcome back Punkdoc.  It's become nice and sunny here after a murky start.  Have been into town and run all my errands, visited mum and am now having 5 minutes.  Not sure whether I'm going to feel up to working in the garden today.

I have been uploading some photos onto my laptop and found some old ones of the garden when I moved in.  Ive posted a couple below so you can see how things have changed.

Wow Yvie, what a lot of work you have done, deserving to reap the rewards of all those hours you will enjoy spending in that bit of paradise image

Brilliant before and after pics Yvie and DDimage.  It just goes to show what can be done with the effort being put in.

Good to see you back Pdocimage.

Fritillary, congratulations on your new jobimage.

I've got one of those astrantias Beaus and really like it.  I saved some seeds last year and they have germinated so I will have a nice clump eventuallyimage.  Don't know whether I've got a photo but will have a look.

Waiting to hear what GB has managed to buy at the GC todayimage

Would have been good to get stuck into the garden today but I've been doing loads of washing in the bath.  They couldn't fit the washing machine because of a leaky valve, so waiting for a plumber (appliance cover) and then contact the installers againimage.

Don't ever believe these things come in threes.  Up to seven now and still countingimage

Love the pictures Yvie, so nice to have before and after. I wish I had done that when I started doing this garden 24 years ago. [ how I managed that when I was only 3, I do not know ] What I do now is take pictures of the various borders, throughout the year, to try and decide what has worked and what hasn't, so that I can plan for the following year.

Spent a lovely few hours in the garden, listening to the birds while weeding and pruning. Bird song really has restorative powers. I wonder whether playing tapes of it, in the dead of winter, would also work?

How can you lie there and think of England

I do that too punkdoc, it makes deciding what goes where much easier and also helps me not to overplant or dig up bulbs.

ok I was good at the GC just a cup of coffee and caramel slice.

Had a long chat with the head honcho about my idea for a boarder shaded by the building until about end of April when it gradually gets more sun each day to the end of September NNW facing.

As I left I found these had decided to follow me just like a lost kitten, and who can not resist the sad eyes of a kitten?
