Hi all. Quick check-in before making tea (pasta - is it KEF who can't stand the stuff?) and going out to a rehearsal. Busy day but no gardening; had a quick look, but to be honest it's still pretty fast asleep out there, just crocus and snowdrops out, with a few 'tete a tete' daffs.
Garden may be asleep, but the birds are wide awake. Two female great spotted woodpeckers were having a barney over the bird feeders this morning; a song thrush has been trying to break the sound barrier; wrens are everywhere, investigating nooks and crannies; and a little flock of long-tailed tits is practically living on fat cake.
Did anyone notice the bit of film near the beginning of Poldark which was sideways? Down the mine, water dripping from left to right. (Unless i was seeing things...) But I enjoyed Verdun's swimming scene...
Bother. Will be out when the Kew programme is on...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
There's also an issue with Poldark regarding their hens. I'm reliably informed they look like Warrens which weren't around (like oil tankers) in the time frame they're trying to portray.
Reggie and I went for a long walk this afternoon. He got very muddy. I got very muddy. He's now fast asleep on the sofa - I wonder if he'll realise its almost d.i.n.n.e.r. time!?

...Poldark is sounding more and more like faildark
why is the production team not on the ball? I expect better from the BBC
shredder works a treat, but rain stopped play. Well, drizzle, but I'd had enough.
Checked out the polytunnel and it seems someone has gone made with the clematis buying of late. There are 23 in there which need planting.
One more and you'll have a round two dozen
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
