Not sure about Fuschias, they are pretty but my dad's obsession with them and 'infinite' knowledge of growing them puts me off (you won't often find me mentioning my dad LOL)!!

I've just read Carol's article on summer bulbs whilst soaking, very interesting seen as I came in tonight after planting and felt a little deflated, I find planting bulbs very unrewarding to be honest as there is nothing to show for it (somehow it's different to sowing seeds but I can't explain it!). However, Carol has cast a different light on them and I am now looking forward to lovely flowers later in the summer image

Am I right in thinking though that they all need to be lifted in autumn and stored in the GH?

Am loving the extra hour in the evening. A whole hour and a half of gardening after the little peas are in bed before it gets dark.

Another vote for Yorkshire here. Although I think I'm further north than most of you.

Chicky, OL and I could have sent our ironing to you - just think you could have had a golden halo rather than just feeling virtuous! next time maybe...image

Just watched intereting programme about autism (Horizon)

Oh yes I forgot to say - finally can see tiny shoots of hosta, need a microscope but they are there, phew! And think the shoots I hoped were my euphorbia are in fact the big white daisies (leuc something)image but they are about 50cm from main clump - do they send out runners?

Think it's time for bed - but it's too far awayimage

Mrs G - daisy/leucanth-things form quite a big clump over time, but i have never seen them throw out runners.  Maybe something else ? I love how spring is full of surprisesimage.  Ironing has worn me out - sleep time nowimage

MrsGarden, I like your style image

My Hostas came up a few weeks ago but one seems to be struggling, every time it grows a new leaf it seems to go mushy, no idea why as the other 3 are fine and all in pots next to each other, stood on gravel to keep nasties off!  I think I need Hostafan input, or Verdun (I think he knows about hostas but may be wrong??), or actually, anyone that knows!

Evening, everyone, what a beautiful day,  hope this weather lasts. Looking forward to planting out some of my plants . Also might be making a stumpery at the weekendimage..........OH might be able to get some logs for me from GC (golf), where some of the trees came down in the bad weather earlier.

Tracey, i got an orchid today from Tesco (double stemmed)  £5!

Chicky, I'd post a pic if OH hadnt taken ipad, if time I may try camera-computer-forum complex chain of events to show what it looks like althiugh it is nearer to euphorbia, but think thats wishful thinking. I got euph at house sale when it had finished and was just a tiny twig, grew well (past flower/colouring) but disappeared in winter, everyone elses seems to be there so it's probably not that. As for hostas , they have always just 'been there' for me, no looking after at all.

OL, nice to know I have style - must spread the rumour.

Not watched much news last few days, out of touch, but weather man just told me we have had some Sahara dust dumped into gardens.

Suppose I should go to bed, but it's all the way upstairs...
