Thanks for the kind comments BM, mind you, you should see me on a gardening day, or maybe you shouldn't.

I'll have a look for that rose thread Bekkie, I think I posted on it.

Went to the garden centre today and it's official, my name is Yvie and I'm a shopaholic.

Went for a couple of cheap pots for my nerines.  Ended up with 4 expensive pots (even though two of them were half price in the sale). Potting compost and a Sweet Box plant.  I saw two obelisks but I came to my senses before I bought them.

Had to do a few errands in town, when I came back the car was full of the most wonderful perfume from the sweet box.  How can such a little flower produce so much scent.  Trying to find a place close to the front door so that it cheers me up everytime I pass by.

  • I was upset about him yesterday, think i was hormonal or something anyway, went a over t in sainsburys yesterday, had overdone things and was a bit wobbly, got laughed at, that upset me too, would usually just take no notice!

I thought i was going to have to have george put to sleep again yesterday, he tumbled at the park on monday (trying to jump around like a wally), he wasnt too bad on tue, but yesterday, couldnt get down the front step to have a wee, or bend to drink, but at 1:30 this morning he went in the back garden, down to big steps, then came in and cried for food, which of course was served to him on his bed!

Anyhow....all is good again now imageimageimage

Glad he's a bit better today Bekkie.  I've fell loads of times Bekkie, once when I was 8 months pregnant in the middle of a town and believe it or not nobody came to help.  Hope you haven't done any damage, people can be so cruel sometimes.

  • Am fine thanks Yvie, it happens quite a lot when i push myself too far or get too tired, normally water off a ducks back, must have had an over sensitive day! image

Cant believe no one helped when you were pregnant! I'd have helped you love image

What are your new pots like? image

Beautiful Bekkie, Two of them are really nice Terracotta (that must be spelt wrong) with a nice embossed pattern around the top, they were the end of a design so I got them half price.  The other two are pale greeny grey ceramic.  All four are narrower at the bottom and curve out at the top.

Have 20 nerines to plant so I'm planning on putting half of them in two of the pots and the rest in the garden.  Was a bit concerned they might not be hardy enough for the garden but the man at Ashwoods says they should be fine. Thats the Nerines not the pots.

  • Like i would know about spelling! image

Your pots sound fab! I know what you mean with the grey/green ones, very nice image

Its a good plan to do half and half, juat incase. I remembered the chap who lives opposite me has loads in his front garden which is west facing, bordered by his tarmac drive, ive never seen him do anything to them, so i reckon an experienced gardener like you should be fine image
  • Just had a text from mom saying shes fallen down the stairs, tripped on the vac cord! Seems to be a lot of falling over going on! image

  • Just black and blue from what shes said, must have been painful as she went to casulty, just been winding her up that shes "had a fall" , she threatened me with violence not to say that to anyone, so shes ok image
