KEF I've got the hot water bottle ready warming things up for us. His Lordship doesn't think he'll be home for at least another hour (i.e. gone 21:00).

Dark (cold and windy) nights make me want to hibernate at the best of times (raynaulds and arthritis don't help), trouble is hot summer days and I over heat (can't regulate my temperature due to spinal issues) so I think I really ought invest in a hot tub for the winter months and transform it into a paddling pool come summer!

Actually that might not be such a silly idea...

    Evening image

Am back from having my hair done - £15, thanks very much, don't mind if I do image

Cripes Bill, and to think I fancied moving to Toronto at one point (shivering smiley) brrr.

Got some new boots delivered today but need a shoe horn to try them on image Not sure if we have one and OH is out playing bridge so will have to wait until he gets home. . . unless I want to venture into his man room . . . . image image

  • Quick hello as I settle Shadow for the night - didn't have to drag him into the crate tonight - he has been skidding across the floor until tonight desperately trying to escape it - think he has realised it's a done deal and I won't be bribed with big brown eyes, actually think he is now snoring.  image

Been a hectic couple of days, all well here in thje Dordogne, including poor old man who had a bad fall, feels very spring like but I am sure we are not over the worst of it yet, did spot some lovely crocus, nice surprise as we weren't here this time last year. image

Been out nearly all day, hair done, shopping (boring stuff), post office, dentist & running club. Been speaking & listening to French all that time & now my head hurts, so much concentration involved. image

I do hope the weather is kind to those under threat, think best place is under a duvet with hot water bottle & supplies as suggested by Dove - that's where I'm off, goodnight all, stay safe. image

OH is in Ireland. He says it is very windy. It must have been the brussel sprouts.image

Last night was not too good. He ordered dinner in the hotel bar at 8pm. At 9pm he reminded them and ordered another Guiness. At 10 he saw the chef going home, didn't get charged for the guiness, and went to find a Macdonalds in desperation.image

All calm here. I think we must be in the lee, because of the hill, although we had a big frost last night.

I'm just watching Mr T and Britains back gardens.  The Japanese garden is near Newark, not too far for us midlanders for a forum visit. They are open from March. I'm making a list. I liked the grottoes in Wales from last week. I think we can get there and back in a day. Mum likes OH's new volvo tank.He got a free boot liner, so we can get a lot of plants in. I just have to be retrained to drive it because its an automatic.

OOh yes fidget, the Japanese garden is my dream garden only it comes out of my head, gets tangled up in my heritage and lands in my own garden looking a little bit differentimage

Also loved the grotto as well, I'd have one of those as well if I couldimage

    Good morning all image

Wet and windy here too - I was woken in the night by crashing and saw that several recycling bins put out for collection early this morning were flat on their backs  - the lid on ours looked as if it was staying shut so I went back to bed - I've looked out there this morning and can't see too much mess - hope it's still the same when light dawns.

If that's the worst the weather does to us we can cope with it.  Hope everyone else is ok .... ((hugs))image

Re the Japanese garden - loved it, but I couldn't have it as my only garden - I need flowers as well image

Fidget I'm sure that you will soon pick up driving an automatic if it means going plant huntingimage.   Hope you oh gets his breakfast this morningimage.  I also liked the Japanese garden but, like Dove would want an area with flowers too.  We just want it allimage.  You could start digging out your grotto now Wintersongimage
