  • Hi All,

Only had chance to pop in a couple of times, so hope I haven't missed any juicy gossip. image

Spent all day yesterday running around doing errands & then Pilates last night. Was just as well as Charlie went off on his school trip at 7:00 yesterday morning & I was fretful all day until the message came through they had arrived, am much more relaxed about it now until the return journey. image

Am about to take Shadow & the poor cat to the vets in the same car, Shadow needs his booster & Marmalade has to be registered in France for his microchip to work, should have done it months ago but never got around to it - going to be a fun car journey, luckily only 15 minutes - hope they don't manage to escape their cages.image

This afternoon I am decorating son's room whilst he is gone with his favourite Marvel wallpaper - just one wall but will please him no end, got the bedding and an alarm clock to match aswell.

Wednesday new friends coming to visit in the afternoon, when we went to their house the lady had baked the most gorgeous cakes so am feeling obliged to produce something special - no pressure. image

Have a good day all & thinking of poor people back at work, nearly the week-end. image

    Morning all.

Rain of biblical proportions here, nearly got washed away in torrent outside bread shop.

So glad I retired early, although I didn't want to go at the time.

Morning all on this dull dark day, I can just see the woods, the Cleveland hills are lost in a sea mist, in our area the North Sea takes no prisoners as it invades the shore. The Decs came down Friday, Daughter bustled in and they were gone in a flash, when did I cease to have any say in things I ask?

Joanne my cleaning Lady will hit the place running soon, she comes in all smiles sings away and like a cyclone everything loose will vanish as she whirls round including any dust that may have sneaked in. She is an A1+ cleaner but I am teaching her to cook as she admits to not being able to boil an egg, certainly livens Tuesday's up.

    Frank.

How cold Lizzie, I always thought of France as a warm country.

Its 7c outside at the moment and full sunshine, makes the winter seem shorter when you have a nice day.

I have some more fuchsia cuttings to pot on, they are growing away really well this year, when I have changed beds and got the washing in, I wil be off to the greenhouse, loverly jubbly! I love the greenhouse work.

Frank, please send Joanne down here I need some serious housework done, never been my thing, housework, (I love cleaning windows!)  always tidy though, I do the whirlwind bit, usuall before bed time, dont like getting up a mess.

I am pleased to be retired, although I am self employed so can work when I choose, which isnt in the winter, fortunately, Gold leaf doesnt take in the cold weather.

The jobs just stack up for the Spring!

Lyn, France, at least, Dordogne is warm in summer but colder than England in winter. It has been -8° a few times already.

Don't worry, DD, you are a good cook. Charlie's room will look great, I've seen the websites for your B&B, looks just the sort of place I try to choose when we go away. Your bedrooms are lovely.

    Good morningimage

After a miserable start things have brightened up here now.  I did mean the weather but it's hard to be cheerful when wading through mud in a downpour.

Hope all goes well at the vets DD and there are no escapees.  Charlie will be delighted with his new roomimage

Enjoy your time in the greenhouse Lyn.  My fuchsia cuttings all died off but I'm having success with the lychnis seeds you kindly sent me.  I have four very healthy looking seedlings from the four seeds I planted - I'm saving the rest for spring sowing.

Tuesdays sound like fun in your house Frankimage.

Lyn, LesleyK, indeed fun, she comes to me around twelve and the house gleams when she is done. Never in a hurry to go says I am easy, no clutter and everything in its place. The cooking is what ever is for tea, today belly pork long slow roast with all the extras, her nose will be twitching. My Daughters put their foot down after the little kerfuffle in August, they found me a gem.

I can see the Hills now and it has warmed up though it is no use starting anything off as our winter hits us Jan-Feb so all our sowing is spring time, the sweet peas will go in at the end of Jan on the warming bed but that is all.

Frank, just heard her car pull on the drive.

Christmas decorations all down, packed away into attic, and the tree has gone outside to be shredded. They always come down on the sixth in our house because that was my grandpas birthday, so they always stayed up until then.

Tomorrow he's off to New  York, someone else is giving him a lift to Heathrow.

I expect the next phone call will be when he runs out of money again, or want picking up from the airport.

Tonight we are going out for a chinese meal in Nottingham, so have a good evening everyone.
