The First Day of Advent!  Christmas is nearly here! image

David S - pretty flower - Ipheion uniflorum isn't it?  Such a lovely herald of spring - usually!   We had the native primroses blooming happily a couple of months ago!

  • Edd - a Warning Word is a good idea - not sure about Gaza tho' - surely enough trouble in the Middle East without alcohol image perhaps Gazza would be more appropriate - although I hear he's on the wagon ... again.  Hope he clings on tight this time.

We used to have a Warning in our family.  Gt Aunt Olive was known in the family for being quite argumentative - as she (and her sisters)  only ever came to stay with us at Christmas, when Ma decided Gt Aunt O had said 'quite enough'  Ma would say loudly 'Pass the oranges' and someone would get up and pass the bowl of satsumas around the gathering, giving Pa or another adult the chance to start another conversation so that everyone could ignore Gt Aunt O.    It worked a treat image
