In now and having a cuppa. That robin gets a strop on if I don't come inside to let him get his tea
Lots more turf dug out for the paths and membrane and base gravel laid . I have 2 tonnes of gravel coming next Friday so I need to be prepared for all the shovelling...
Also took down the ash tree that was growing at the back corner of the garden behind the shed. Wasn't very big, about 12 feet, but wasn't in a great place - it's pushing out into the edge of the pavement.
Glad you got the pooter organised KEF
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Lots more weeding done - amazing how liquorishy agastaches smell even when they have lost their leaves. Potted up some bareroot sedums, achillea, asters and geraniums to fill some gaps next year. Also decided to plant my alliums in pots - i know i have gaps, but I can't remember where - this way I can slot them in next May.
Time to read some more of my book - a fascinating account of how someone round here recreated a jekyll garden from the original plans. Will visit next summer, but thought I'd learn the story first - bit like reading the book before you go to the movie
Ohh a pooter party at Kef's and another curry at Archie's. There's only one way to sort this.....
LilyP I must have been somewhere around your patch today. I was so worried when I left home because of the fog and when I'd driven 10 minutes the sun was out over frosty fields and it was breathtaking The sun ran out after Carlisle but the temperature went up.
Took me 5 hours instead of four because someone jack-knifed a Landrover and trailer taking out two lanes
Glad the wrist is feeling better bekkie. Hope you recover soon Rb and remember how hard concrete is next time.
Kudos to all those who have worked hard in the garden. Do you want a hand with all that gravel Fairy? I thought you could just wave your wand
Enjoy the party Panda - do you mean you're a girl not a Panda Trade description may get involved
That would be nice Lesley...don't have one that shifts gravel though, so I'll have to rely on my aching bones and muscles...and a shovel...
Off to have something to eat now. Have a good evening all - especially all those who are partying- I don't have the energy or inclination for that any more!

Been mixing compost and topsoil which got added to a ground bed area, planted up bulbs in pots tulips and daff and put up a trellis on top of a fence got to play with dads power tools and placed pots where I wanted them.
My dahlias in ground and growbags have now gone black but ones in baskets near the house are doing well
Archiepem that was a lot of chopping
Fairygirl you have been doing lots of good prep for your gravel
Not much done in the garden today - it was wet and miserable - I've been wanting to dig out and enlarge the Little Wilderness but my wrist is still a bit dodgy and I've got a long drive tomorrow so I just wandered around a bit and looked at things. The broad beans are up and looking good
I've spent a lot of time surfing the net and looking at holiday cottages for next Sept.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Fairy, i think you have done one of the hardest jobs there is, warm bath
Lesley, what a shame you couldn't stop, sun shone all day!
SGL hope it was only the weather that was dull in your day today
Runny, hope your wrist ok now too, it must be a Gardeners thingy, my thumb pops
The tapestry was amazing, 149 panels all stunning. So glad got to see it before it moves on. The falls looked beautiful as the river was so full, it's a wonderful World Heritage site. Sorry no photos, forgot phone
Taking woofies out, Tallas Houdini Hole discovered and fenced up. Hope so anyway
