Good morning, sorry I'm late image had my nose stuck in Which guide to PC's.

Morning all. Going to a French village Remembrance Ceremony this morning.

Did he say anything about my garden DD? Are you doing a plant sale? I'm digging up bits and potting them up for a sale. Not sure how the teas will work as my friend in the village is doing teas as well and she's already asking our friends for help. Hope there's someone left to help me!

Now I'm worried because I've planted loads of tulips which will be over by 17th May (my open day) and they'll look messy.

We are off to England on Friday, family visiting, Christmas shopping. The French don't do mince meat, need lots for the Carol Service mince pies.

Would love to see you again when we get back, DD. I should send you an email or phone instead of meeting here! image

Oooh thanks RB that was yummy.

Hi Beaus good to see you.

Hope you have a lovely day Dove.

Bekkie good to see you too.

Fairy, have a good day at work.

Have a good day everyone take care.

  • Just back from the Remembrance service, so moving and sad too, the names on the memorial show several from the same family, can't imagine how awful that must be. It is such a small village too seems all the worse. Huge lump in my throat when the flowers were laid by the maire & two war veterans. Luckily pulled myself together before anyone got to talk to me.

BL obviously has a higher order of mairie than us, we got coffee or a drink but no nibbles, image

Mick did remember your garden BL, said it was lovely and also added what a "lovely and knowledgeable lady you were, a real plants-woman'" he said. I agreed of course, although wasn't too convinced about 'lady' part, lovely yes, but I have seen a few of your posts lately. image

Be great to meet up when you are back, and I am happy to help with teas on your day too, really looking forward to seeing it all in action. Am sure the tulips will go unnoticed, the garden is so well stocked with everything else. image

Morning all, if I pull my finger out I just might get 5mins in the garden today! First, being very strict with myself, I must make some effort towards tax returns image, I'm finally happy with progress on my report for son's schooling, got HW & I***ing to do, charity bags to take to shop, fish to clean out, noodling to do on here, and a whole list of 'bit jobs' and 'office work' to get through.

Hi LP, sorry for delay in replying. I have used the light box for about 8 years now, and I do feel it makes a difference. There is some fairly good research that supports their use, certainly my psychiatrist recommends them.

Went to Remembrance ceremony. A friend, who had been in the Navy, read out all the English translations of the speeches. They hoisted French and British flags and had the 2 National Anthems. The schoolchildren read out letters from French soldiers to their wives in the war, very moving. Their was a young bagpiper from Edinburgh whose parents live in Dordogne. Then sparkling wine and nibbles in the village hall.

Am I not a lady, DD? image
