Pdoc I think your body is trying to tell you something.   Enjoy sitting in the sunimage

Lizzie I think your body is trying to tell you something too.  Don't feel guilty about giving yourself a relaxing afternoon.  Just hope the rain is not hard enough to fill in your holes and then there's only another 12 to doimage  Good at maths I am.

Just blame me if you have smudges on your nails Dove.  Have a good timeimage

I bought my mini daffodils and some cyclamen jumped into the basket as well as peanuts for the birds and a box of Christmas cardsimage

I feel guilty just sitting during the day, I have never been able to read or knit during the afternoon.

FB your adventure sounds wonderful, lovely to see animals that you have never seen before.

Its heavy showers here, I may get a chance to do some more bulb planting.

I have 50 Snakeshead Fritti wotsits to plant somewhere, it seems you only get one chance at those, they hate being moved. I dont know where to put them.

I bought some snakeshead fritillaries last year. The mice ate them all..

Oh dear Fidget! Hope they don't eat Lyn's. One year the mice ate my anemones.

It's really pouring. Looked out of upstairs window and realised a lot of gutters need cleaning out, including the garage ones. Left my sown sweet peas in open cold frame, hope they don't rot, not going out in that to rescue them.

Had lunch on sofa, then felt too fidgety to watch telly so lit woodburner and cleaned the sitting room. But when I took a log out of woodpile by the burner a load of huge ants fell out of the bark  Had to spray them and hoover them up. Wonder how many more there are in the pile? Did I carry them all in?

Now shall go and sit in nice clean sitting room and watch "Escape to the Country".

    Good day

just realised have not been here today A lovely weather event day today image

Spent the morning with bulbs and cleared a pot of sad  lobelia, furked around and found there were bulbs in the tub - so - now - what to overplant them with?

This afternoon I have emptied a compost dalek, spread the compost over my big white shrubbery, I had enough compost to put a really good 2-3 inch mulch all over. A robin helped me and sang me some lovely songs. Shattered and very achey ow but have asked Mr Radox to help

  • Now here's a thing: I bought a new gas cooker from my local high-street dealer about three weeks ago ( I like to buy locally for some things) and I'm not happy with certain aspects of it.

Only used the grill twice, first time it took nearly half an hour to brown a shepherds pie (on full) and yesterday it took nearly fifteen minutes to melt cheese (on toast). This is in addition to the oven being far too hot relevant to its setting.

So today I contacted the manufacturers pointing out the above concerns, they in turn asked for various information including model & serial numbers. Operator says 'would you mind holding  the line while I speak to someone'......she returns to say 'it appears from the information you have supplied, that it is an LPG cooker and is your gas bottle running low'

Crikey no! It's connected to the mains (I have no bottled gas) 'was it a qualified fitter that installed it' she says.....yes 'Safegas registered, supplied by the vendor' says I.

Manufacturer's engineer to call  Tuesday  21st Oct.

How are you supposed to cook till then, as I assume it is not safe to use ? If it was in this house I would say great, takeaways for a week.

Talking of food I better prepare some dinner for the worker.

How can you lie there and think of England
