I never sieve my compost Matty - I just spread it around or dig it in if I think it's going to produce lots of seedlings image.

I do, however, pull out any larger bits of woody stuff that hasn't broken down & throw that into the bin I'm filling at the moment. I often pull out plastic plant labels (some reusable) and occasionally find the odd gardening glove / scissors / knife etc ....image

Thanks for that Top bird, garden needs compost and I don't need the sieving!

Did find a kitchen knife in the one being filled the other day, have lost my best secateurs. Makes me wonder what turns up in the council green waste places!

Ferdiddling down outside again. Removed all the tom plants and dug the compost in to the area for the grass. Rescued a very wet bee from an empty pot and did some deadheading adn more digging.

This one's for doc - think it was enjoying the little bit of sun earlier image

We're indoors now having a cuppa so you can have some sunshine now Lily image

We've done loadsa stuff - all the heavy stuff I couldn't do with my bad wrist.  Now the only big job to do is digging over the veg patch and sowing the broad beans.  That can be done in the next couple of weeks.  I've also got some tulip bulbs to plant and pot, but they're not urgent.

OH has planted three hazel bushes, making the Little Wilderness a bit bigger, and he's  planted 20 Narcissus pseudonarcassus around them and given them a good soaking.   Looking forward to catkins and daffodils in the spring image

HELP, I have just blown David K into orbit, no idea how I did it can I get him back please.

    Frank.

  • Beautiful warm day here now after a hefty shower at lunchtime. Acanthus, Kniphofia and Veronica rescued from bed about to be cleared and have split them up and now have loads of each, for new beds, plant sales and friends.

Has anyone got Verbena Macdougalii hybrid. Bought 3 yesterday at plant talk on late season perennials.

What do you mean Frank? How can David be in orbit?image

I never sieve compost either Matty.

Drizzled and rained most of the day. Done almost nothing outside despite getting up in gardening clothes.

Invited out to a Chinese restaurant this evening with friends.

What I meant was I have wiped out David's posts, something to do with that black box that comes up as you sweep the icon across the page. It was involuntary and I would now like to know how I put it back to normal.

    Frank.

Oh dear Frank, I'm not technical so can't answer. Perhaps they are only rubbed out for you, not everyone else. Could it have something to do with clicking on "ignore"? His posts are intact on the Camera Corner thread.

  • How dare you, Frank! image I can only suppose that you've activated the 'ignore button'.

So we may be reunited you will need to un-ignore me again.

Click on 'My settings' (top right of the page) Scroll down to 'Members I am ignoring'....you'll probably see my name in the box. All you need to do is remove it.

I post this although I've never ignored anyone deliberately or unintentionally. image
