Hello all! Been very busy for a few days so I've not been on here a lot... haven't done much gardening either, as we've been permanently in cloud for ages. But no useful rain either...
However, my new plants (hesperantha, tricyrtis & cyclamen) are looking very happy - though I'm still waging war on slugs. Maybe I'll get some photos posted tomorrow.
So relieved to wake up this morning and find our Scottish cottage isn't suddenly in a foreign land! I'm not surprised you were on tenterhooks, Fairy & Lesley. There was never going to be a result which would work for everyone - let's hope the "waves" soon die down and there are no serious repercussions, north or south of the border.
Incidentally Fairy, I'm with you on the shopping front. Waterproofer for shed roof rather than shoes, every time... Though I did have an interesting outing to "World of Wool" today, near Huddersfield. Loads of lovely yarns etc for knitters and crafters. Almost as good as a garden centre...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hi Liri - just had a peek at the World of Wool site. I've never heard of it before but it looks like a really interesting place to visit (I'm guessing you could easily spend a fortune by selecting 'just one of those' and 'ooh - I have to have one of those' - bit like buying bulbs and seeds).
Think I might give it a try next time I'm in Yorkshire - thanks for the heads up!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
It's ok Liri - I'd have looked after your cottage for you...
Noticed one of my little white cyclamen has a bud ready today. They're lovely plants aren't they ?
Cloudy and humid here too - headache weather - but it might lack of sleep for me
I've put some of my new gravel down round the pond, chopped the tops off the last couple of fence posts in the front garden, and fed the front grass. That's enough for me today.
Off to organise dinner for me and youngest - older daughter has been at work since 8am and doesn't finish till 9pm - culture shock!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I love that idea Woody and so will Gg. Fairy - what have you let yourself in for
The grasses do look very good Woody. I'm a bit like you and only saw the ones that look half dead so I wasn't interested but slowly changing my mind now.

Just had a read back.....
GG are there no water butts at the station or something you could use to catch all the rain water?
Woody is little prairie the final name decision or are we gonna have a forkers naming woodys garden competition?

Beaus - if Gg isn't around I've a feeling that there once was a water butt at the station but it was stolen
Can't leave anything unattended nowadays.
Hope you had a really good holiday Topbird and have a great time out in the gardens tomorrow
Yes Liri it was a bit nervewracking but it's just a feeling of relief today.
Certainly not celebrating.
Thanks Lesley - I'm sure we will - it's very good company!!
