Just wanted to say - if anyone's listening to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 just now, they're discussing the Poppy installation at the Tower of London. Desperately moving.

If anyone wants to buy one of the poppies you can visit the website. The website is poppies.hrp.org.uk  or just google poppy installation.

I hope no one minds me doing that. I'm lucky - my Grandpa came back, so my purchase is for all those who didn't. Lest we forget.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We are planning to go to London soon to go and see them. Want to buy a poppy too. Seen pictures of all the poppies at the Tower, looks beautiful.

My grandad came back too, with an ulcerated leg, but alive, he died in 1959.

My grandson helped plant a whole field of poppies at the Heligan gardens, I never got to seeing then, but they were lovely according to grandson.

I have just had to buy a new mobile phone, hope I can set it up, will wait for clever daughter to come tomorrow.

What awful weather, dull, dark and rain nearly all day. Looks like October out there.

Well in between the rain I managed to plant my Miscanthus, looks great image

Hope you've all had a lovely day. And YAY its the weekend.

You can't help but remember when you see a field of poppies.

Bekkie - Mum is coming home tomorrowimage She had the op cancelled twice as other patients were in worse shape (understandable but frustrating).  There was a cancellation and they did the procedure this morning. Dad is improving slowly but today managed to have a shower (it's in the bath) for the first time since Julyimage. Now you know why I wanted to go homeimage.  Not sure when that will happen but we'll see how things go over the next few days.

My family are keeping the hospital in business.  When Mum was taken in the woman in the next bed was a relative and now my Uncle (Dad's brother) has had a fall and also has a broken hip.  Talk about sibling rivalryimage

So looking forward to seeing my dog and the garden (the menfolk too I supposeimage)

I went to see Dordogne Damsel this afternoon. She has a lovely garden that has been neglected for some time, but was planted by someone who knew about gardens. Beds are quite large but there was a tangled mat of grass and weeds and nettles all over them, trying to throttle the plants. She's cleared quite a bit but still lots more to do. I have a bigger area and more lawn, but she has a much bigger area of planted beds. She's lovely, I hope we keep in touch.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
