Tracey said "Anyway, quick question for my gardening friends, my marigold seedlings are coming along nicely but I have made the mistake of putting them in the propagator with other seeds, which haven't germinated!!! What do I do? I think I'm meant to take the lid off once they have all germinated, but can't?? "
I've had problems with that too, now I always sow seeds in separate containers, not necessarily the ones supplied with the propagators. When the marigolds are all properly germinated the lid should come off or they could damp off. Another problem I've had. What are the other seeds? Any chance of removing the marigolds together with their compost to another container?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all The weatherman has just said it'll be a fine and dry day for most of England today, although Verdun may have some lingering cloud (sorry Verdun). After lunch I'm heading south to visit the Aged Ps, and then going on to stay overnight with son and daughter in law. OH has to work so I'll leave him some sausages, beans and a jacket tattie to keep him company.
Edd, hardworking gardeners also need to cater for 'the inner man/woman'
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thanks Verdun, for your advice on Bowles Mauve - when do i need to remember to take cuttings? I'll make a note now - will be nice to replenish the stock.
Our forecast is turning cold for the weekend - might affect project GH move (Tracey isn't the only one with GH worries!). Needs to get done before i get too many babies in there
And just to prove we put garden pics on here sometimes too ..... Here is my new camellia (from Trehanes) - bought because it has the same name as the littlest Chicklet. And, no, she is not called Debbie!
Morning all. I'm slightly coveting a white Camellia at the nursery...
Dry here for now but the rain's not far away. Oh well...
Edd - no cake for you if you don't behave...
Young fairy is very accomplished in the kitchen chick - she just doesn't do it often enough...now if I could get her to do the washing, ironing, cleaning, food shopping, dish washing, decorating, mending....
Off for a quick look round before work. Have a lovely day all.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
