Lovely pics Stacey and lovely to see you Glad you had a nice day and sorry you didn't get the plants you wanted, but imagine how many you could get at the GC with your £100
Verdun, sorry your mum is still in hospital, hope she is better soon and I hope they are giving her the care she needs.
Big boy has text and not had much rain, camp set up for the night and apart from sore shoulders he is ok, so I can relax now
Knew i would miss something .....Stacey - glad you had a good day, but sorry it was not as good as before.... What did you think of the gardens? I don't normally buy lots at shows - prefer to take leaflets and then mail order. Having said that, i did come home with an agastache and three crocosmia (named AnnieMarie - HAD to have them!!) this year - hope they do well. It must be a stressful experience being a plant at a show
.... My mum is still in hospital ...will be until at least Monday. She is pretty well imtact.....no dementia but comfused, no major ops or bits added and no real pain. Infection and gout is keeping her in I think. She suffers from, anxiety though...dont really know where we will go from here. Nurses do well there but there are signs that my mum is not given as much attention as she would like. She needs to drink plenty of water yet she had none available to her. ???? Need to be careful as I know the workload in the nhs but patient care...ESP for my mum....is important. However, she got her water and a reminder from me ....
Verdun, that sounds so familiar - following earlier experiences, now when my Aged Ps are in hospital we try to make sure there's a family member with them most of their waking hours.
I think you'll find that the confusion will go when her fluid intake is right and then when she gets back into familiar surroundings - you're right about anxiety not helping - Ma has always been prone to anxiety and over the past few years it got much worse, then she'd try to make sense of things and confusion took over.
Now the Alzheimer's has kicked in properly Ma is no longer anxious, and although she talks absolute bunkum a lot of the time, she's much happier than she's been for ages as the anxiety has gone. Every cloud has a silver lining
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Phew! What a day. HW all morning garden all afternoon.
I have hoed every available inch, chopped , pruned, moved and mowed - only set out to tidy up as having a bit of a do next weekend and no time. Still to hide empty pots, sweep and weed paths, wash tables and chairs etc.
Verdun, hope yr mums up and running soon, or at least well enough to come home.
Stacey, glad you had a good day even if a bit disappointed.
chicky, which free clematis did you get? Was it an offer with the delphs?
Panda, my sweet peas are less than a foot and no flowers, one that came from last year is tall and has 3-4 flowers.
MrsG - the clematis were Pilu, John Huxtable and multiblue - they seem to establish better for me here if I start with tiny plugs. Very pleased with these - look very healthy - will grow them on til next spring, then let them loose
Chick, my Ernest Markham isn't looking good. Didn't know much about clems when I first got it ( not that I know that much more now), planted too close to the apple tree I wanted it to climb up I think, so will be difficult to move so I'll leave it a couple of years and see how it copes.

Evening all
Had a lovely afternoon, sarnies, cakes and tea
The sun came out and shone on us
We now have the rumble of thunder and the sparks of lightening
And here comes the rain
Have my first sweet peas, two purple and one white. Plants are only about a foot tall. . . is this normal? Stems are too short to cut them.
Stacey, lovely to see you. Always pictured you as blonde though . . .
Verdun, sorry to hear about your mum. Hope she is well enough to come out soon
