    There's a thought.

That reminds me - the cider we made last October is probably ready now image

If I had some black currants I would probably make some wine. I think they freeze ok though so you could keep them?

mmmm - yes.  They do freeze v well.....except that my freezer's not very big and will soon need space for runner beans....

What about conserving them in jars and using on puddings?

So, I google conserving blackberries for Steve to try and offer some tips.....what do I get?? How to conserve battery life on a blackberry.......not quite what I had in mind!!!!

Have you made jam Steve? I live making jam image

I need to give my fruit bushes some TLC this year and make sure I get better fruit crop next year and get a cage so it's not bird food!!

Yes - I quite fancy bottling.  Tried it last year (found some cheap jars, not all of which were airtight image)  and it worked OK.  The blackcurrant sponge pudding was lovely (microwave for 10 min!)  and I have high hopes for blackcurrant and rhubarb crumble.

Strange, I wrote something earlier, but it's not there now. Not that it said anything important, only this, as far as I remember.

Morning all. No real plans today, apart from chicken Tandoori tonight. OH's relations are still here, but we'll just relax.

    Bother, forgot the other bit.

Happy Birthday Clari! I hope that you manage to have a good day all the same and Mr. Clari is forgiven.

I make blackcurrant jam so that we have it with porridge all through the winter.

Right.  Time to stop messing about here and get out in this lovely sunshine.  Lots of strawberry runners to pot up today, and there'll be weeding too.  And harvest image
