Thanks everyone, may not have time to finish post as at rubbish work.

Clarii had to have an enforced reduced working hours to make me realise I had transferable skills to do anything else eve if pays less. Will have to keep 2 days at other crap job to pay bills tho.

......... I did apply to become a carer but the whole family forced their opinion on me that is was far beneath me ...............

That's so sad - there's nothing more worthwhile in my opinion - and bdooly tough work too and needs people with a brain, tenacity and common sense.  My daughter works for Mencap - she and the majority of her colleagues are graduates.

    Morning all image

Have been up for a while (promise!) and been for a saunter round the garden. Yesterday managed to find a space for the shade loving astilbe image Facing East without large fences my garden seems to lack a quantity of shady spots - esp as I had already filled them image

Glad OH made it back safely KEF image

Dove, you seemed tired this morning. If you want to get up a bit later I can always look after your body clock againimage

Talking of Astilbes...mine was divided last year and replanted in dappled shade with a shed load of meaty compost and growing marvellously this year as a clump of three, but no flowers yet...image

Also, dug up the rest of my second early spuds. Forked a few that I will have for tea tonight, but not a bad crop given that my soil is really undernorished. It's very thin and was eaay to move by the trug load to my new raised bed, but I'm only half emptying the old veg bed, since it still has onions and carrots in it, and only half filling the new bed, since I need to add lots of organic matter as well.

Once the onions have finished, I will landscape the veg plot for more raised beds and better design, plus room for greenhouse w00p w00p. Then, and only then, I think I can join the grown-up gardener's club and get seriously early seed sowing next spring. image
