I have found a new tip you all may want to try, it simple seaweed collected from the beach, not the first strand nearest the water, but the third nearest the land, all broken up by mother nature, free compost for ur land, looks like wood bark when used great effect!
You need permission from the owner of the beach to remove seaweed, even if it's not growing.
The owner may be the local council, the National Trust or an individual. Many beaches are protected e.g. SSSI etc and the seaweed forms an important part of the ecology of the area.
Don't go removing it without permission.
No need to 'bump' a thread if you've posted on it.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Jeeps, I did not know that! I just assumed it would be ok, and that I was actually helping, as the beach is over come and unsightly as there is so much of it, that you cant even see the beach! I will ask the next time, and plz ask ur own councils etc b4 taking this wonderful stuff

Hi Tom and welcome

Several people here have allotments and many of us have veg patches in our gardens. This is a thread about Zoomer's allotment http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/talkback/new-allotment-omg/220407.html
