As has been said above ... this is an information thread about how to use the forum ... you really need to start a new discussion with an appropriate title ...

but  ... back in the 'olden days' when pear trees were usually grown from seed, (nowadays they're usually grown on a grafted rootstock, which speeds things up a bit) it used to be said that you 'plant pears for your heirs' ..... so there may be quite a while to wait as yet!  ;)

  • I am new to veg gardening, in fact this coming year will be my first attempt. I have plans to create two 4 ft wide by 8 ft long raised beds, would welcome any advise and tips on what to grow as a first time veg gardener. Fancy growing tomatos, onions, beans and also some herbs. love to hear from you.

This will be my third year with two raised beds my better half built for me. Last year I had a good harvest from everything i put in, you learn from year to year, and tips and advice from this forum. For me the easiest has been potatoes, onions, spring onions and carrots. Going to try sprouting broccoli and runner beans this year. Good luck and let me know how you get on

@Teriannemily - that poster hasn't posted for 10 years, so you're unlikely to get a response.
These are largely info threads, so people use the open forum for posting about their veg. You'll get plenty of help or chat about veg there as the season begins  :)

Quoting ex admin from 12 years ago in your posts, really isn't the way to go @vanshika.mca.2019.jim6eUroSKe

Marks you out as a WUM/spammer right away and you'll just be flagged as such and removed.

  • Thank you for this forum. I have a habit of gardening in containers in my rooftop since July 9, 2016. I have In and Outs on plants especially Fruits and Vegetables. IT by profession. Gardening by Passion. :)
I really don't have a Good backyard. But used my balcony as container Gardening place. No stopping from my passion.
