Lovely garden Diddy, but boy am I glad it's you that has to water all those pots and not me!image

  • It's very easy to do take just about half an hour to water, even when it rains,as the foliage is like a parasol over the roots. the OH thinks i'm bark raving mad,But then as i have said in another thread of mine is,she would kill a plastic plant.USELESS!!!!!!!!.

  • Wow Lilylouise thats a fabulouse garden it looks like you have to put lots of time in to it each year, and i bet your greenhouse is constantly full.It would have to be to keep on top of everything, but its a credit to you both Pam.

  • What time of the year do you start your bedding and baskets off and do you use heat in the greenhose? If so which form of heat do you use and what did you find the cheapest?Lilylouise.

I keep one of my greenhouses frost free over the winter -I have a thermostatically controlled electric fan heater -with a paraffin one just in case.

I am just finishing taking cuttings of  Marguerites, trailing Geraniums,Felicias,Brachycombe,Plectranthus, scented Geraniums etc.etc.etc -about 30 trays plus loads of pots.

i start sowing seeds in mid February and plant my baskets up in April. I buy plugs of Begonias,Petunias and Blue Salvias and grow Cosmos and Ageratum from seed.

  • Have you used the seed swap thread Pam or have you put up a list of what you may have.

That front garden must take ages to sort out and plant. What compost and feed do you use and how often do you feed.

  • Dont be ashamed of your garden, everyone starts some where. There are also some great people on here that can give you ideas on planting etc.My garden has been ongoing for over 11 years and you are realy never finished in your garden anyway, there is always room for improvement/
