I stopped watching after Monty left, Toby was ok but way too normal and boring for my tastes, gardening (at times)can be boring enough. Now the 3 are back together I hope the show returns to it's old 1-hour Friday night BBC2 slot. Also, PLEASE bring back Chris Beardshaw, Alan would be the icing but I guess he's moved on to chat shows on ITV.
Thank God for fast forward on Sky plus as I was then able to jump past when the patronising Toby Buckland was on . Great news that my favourite gardener is now back on GW ,welcome back Monty Don as GW could not have survived another season with TB . Rachel de Thame's return is also great news although she allowed Jonathan Rous make an idiot of her on his chat show with his sexist remarks and although clearly embarrassed she stayed when she should have got up and left the set . All in all great news though that Buckland is gone as his spots on GW were cringemaking with that fake bon homie attitude of his .
I'm delighted to hear of Monty Don's return - he always comes across as both practical and inspirational. Toby may have been practical, but for a novice gardener like me he made it all so dull that after a few weeks I gave up watching. (And clearly the sharp decline in viewing figures meant I wasn't the only one to miss Monty!) Well done, BBC!
Great news. Welcome back Monty, a real gardener again, you have been missed and thought about. Whilst I like Mr. Titchmarsh as a presenter, he has clearly moved on to other things, Buck house garden and the like. I do so enjoy seeing him in my local hardware emporium. Whilst all gardeners can see a plan for their acres when the lottery numbers come up, I do not see a place in my garden for purple fences, Stainless steel features, or an area for getting pedicure/manicures which seems to be Rachel de Thames. She is great at Chelsea, or perhaps Ascott, to parade her fancy hats around. How about a feature showing her mucking out her horses and forking over the heap by hand to give proper, well rotted compost, whilst preserving the nail polish, fancy hat and shoes. Please bring in some old Percy Thrower footage, get back to roots ...
Fantastic news. will be able to switch on GW again. found Toby and Alys too boring. Great gardeners no doubt but as someone else has said already, not particularly TV friendly and I think hat has to be an important ingredient too otherwise I might as well refer to one of my hundred or so books on the subject!

Comments like these show the sort of people who want Monty Don back - Sky viewers and people who bizarrely think he's a real gardener! Says it all, really.
Don knows very little about gardening compared with Toby Buckland, but apart from that he was just so dull, uninspirational and plain boring.
Toby, Alys and the team relaunched GW into a watchable, interesting and informative programme that worked at all levels - for beginners and for those who had been gardening for many years.
It's very sad to see the BBC yet again pandering to the whims of people who really ought to stick to their Sky and ITV channels and carry on reading their Hello magazines. Any attempt at intelligent programming gets shot down in flames by people who can't cope without their daily dose of celebrity - even from D-listers like Monty Don.
Fantastic news. I have been falling aleep half way through Gardeners World this series so maybe I will stay awake now for what used to be my favourite programme!!
