  • Just looked up flag iris and I'm not convinced in the setting it was growing in .... I'm still going with frittilaria..... Time will tell ( 2/3 years if it is lmao)

  • Hi Stacey!  I'm 99% sure it is the dried seed head of a flag iris.  I have quite a lot growing in my pond as well as in the lawn.  They look fabulous when flowering en masse.  I love them!

  • They were no where near water...... If they are I have planted te seeds hoe long to they take to grow???

  • SD They should be up and flowering next year - about May time.  If they are the wild iris they cope with almost any conditions - that's why they are successful in the wild.

Large pod on 6ft yellow stem. that would eliminate flag iris, and  crown imperial fritillaries.
