Pretty sure she’s on GC now @Topbird … think I recognised her writing style (and knowledge) in a couple of posts about roses. Think the name was Mrs something but I can’t remember what. I’ll have a hunt around …

    ETA  try ‘@MrsHillard’

Yes, she is on GC. Avatar is a bright pink rose, she was on there giving advice today.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

Yes, Marlorena is Mrs Hillard. She told the Rose thread people and I met her on GC. She also posts on a forum called Houzz, I think it's American.

And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

If some people are genuinely worried about us sinking GC, then perhaps they should just not post.
How can you lie there and think of England

It is funny , sorry to butcher your post @Dovefromabove but I used to use a forum and ended up being a mod.
You get used to a persons style or spelling errors at times.

We had a "repeat offender", and it was so easy to spot them from style and a repeatedly mis-spelled  word or two.

So I think that people who join and lose someone may well find them from their style if they know them well enough to care :)

The forum I used to use changed hands and changed and eventually closed with a slower decline , lots of friends made and post of effort and given with a willingness and love of the subject to want to be helpful .
With a good dose of annoyance and frustration expressed at times with a little rudeness in the mix.

It is so nice that the Gardeners Corner has been so welcoming, the mods are doing a grand job!
Make sure to thank them, they are the back bone  of the forum and a good team there!

Good Luck to you all with a love and passion for gardening

    Happy gardening  :)

Thank you for that info @Dovefromabove, @Busy-Lizzie and @Eustace - I'll definitely being following her wherever she is. Valuable contributor to any forum.🙂

I feel extremely privileged to be exploring this remote and truly wonderful part of the world but sometimes (just very occasionally) I miss the speed and reliability I'm used to on t'interweb. It's so important for so many things - both essential and not. We won't be back in the UK until after the opportunity for last postings etc. Hope to be able to say a proper goodbye when we get back to Argentina.

Meanwhile - just living for the moment...🥂

I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday @Topbird and I hope to see you in Suffolk before too long - not goodbye!

I have made it over as Meomye but confess I have no idea what I am doing at the moment. I had a welcome post but I don't know how to reply! Can anyone advise please. Not a great start I admit but I am a self confessed techno phobe. How do I sign in and out please? tia

I don't sign out, but all you have to do is mark the thread you've posted on - 'watch thread' top right, and if you sign up for alerts, you'll get those top right of page. Just click on  your name and you'll get the drop down menu for doing all that.
You'll also get email notifications of any activity on the threads you've been on if you don't mind that. I hate it, so I mark them as spam, but I didn't use notifications here either. It fries my brain seeing all those email notifications.
If you press 'spy' you get the most recent 20 or so posts, or just use 'new posts' to see what's happening generally - it's the same as recent discussions on this forum.
