    That's funny @coccinella    I was looking at 3 very sad looking frying pans this morning and have got them out of the drawer so far.  Will they get as far as the tip???   Mine look the same as yours but probably a bit more scratched.

    You could use it as a bird bath?

    @coccinella - yes, get a new one.

    @tui34 I've just replaced mine - medium and large plus a deep one - with that Tefal offer Leclerc had before Xmas.   Very handy for tarte tatins as the handle is removable.

    Afraid I would say time for honourable retirement to the tip for recycling.

    You have done well to make it last ten years.
    I know there is  a lot made of Teflon (note trademark name) non stick type coatings. I have always been slightly on the fence erring on side of caution.

    I had an early sauce pan lasted for many years before I realized we must have been consuming the coating for a while.
    Us and parrot type birds are still here twenty odd years later.

    (The coating on the pan had been a silvery colour so not as noticeable as the dark ones.)

    Well I think if they still work keep them. I used to buy expensive non stick fry pans but a good few years ago changed to IKEA ( cheap) ones. I do keep one of them separate to only be used for omelettes or fried eggs. When any of them start sticking too much or have become warped the handle is taken off and they’re used as plant saucers under my pots.

    That's the problem @floralies.  Kitchen utensils usually end up in the garden!!

    But now I have to tidy up the potting shed and get rid of all those plastic pots, frying pans, pots, bleeding enamel bowls, plastic thing that came off the fridge, bathroom and kitchen spray bottles and so forth and so on....

    I actually prefer my stainless steel pans and casseroles for most things but the bigger frying pans have handles that don't easily fit in the oven, hence the new TEFLON pans which are, at least, made with recycled aluminium.

    They make great saucers for large pots or containers. The handle is great for turning the pot.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
