Books are all well and good, but tend to 'generalise' over even the thorniest of problems. That's why GW Forum is so good, everyone here has a different slant on every difficulty and one is bound to resonate eventually. Well done, Forkers, and thank you.
Hi all, oh how I agree what a great “hangout” this is. I know I can disappear for ages and still come back to a warm welcome. Love ya all and have benefited from so much wisdom so happily shared.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.
Like others, I've had rapid replies to various questions I've posed. This forum has been more helpful than a book, and far more reliable than anywhere else on the Net.
Thank you to the majority of you who are keen to help - and more!
I love this forum many people are so friendly and the advice is always good. Special thanks to @Marlorena who guided me towards growing roses successfully in pots and @Fairygirl who saved my little acer and advised on sweet peas, again in pots. Also all my friends on Rezzers who have been a massive support during difficult times, a lovely lot so thanks to @Ladybird4 for keeping that thread going.
Yes, it’s a great forum, full of helpful people who are happy to share tips and offer advice on a wide variety of topics. I know I’ve been made to feel welcome, and even when I’ve asked questions that might seem to have obvious answers, I haven’t been made to feel foolish - after all, we all have to start somewhere - and for that I’m grateful.
Always loved the forum, but I sometimes wish that the vocal minority would stop their carping and telling the rest of us what we are doing wrong. The forum has survived and indeed thrived for many years, so I imagine that the people who have been here long term are doing something right.
Thankfully that minority does seem to be shrinking. Criticising the decisions made by somebody about their own garden, without in depth knowledge of that person situation, says far more about the judgemental complainer than the gardener.
