What is this plant, please?

It looks a little thistle-y but the leaves are not so spikey as those on the thistles growing nearby.  The leaves are also a little more waxy.  Thanks for any assistance!

I agree @nutcutlet … I’d say that’s Prickly Sowthistle (Sonchus Asper) with invading Creeping buttercup. 😊

  • Ah so it looks like a consensus is forming!  Didn't know there were so many types of thistle :-0  and is it a creeping buttercup or a meadow buttercup?  From pictures online it seems that the meadow buttercup has slightly more wispy (rather than creepy!) foliage, like in the picture?

It's much taller than the creeping type @michael80908  :)

We’ll have more idea which when it flowers … Meadow Buttercup will be much taller than Creeping.

If you are going to wait for it to flower there will be quite a bit more creeping buttercup by then. It might creep up on you, but it's not slow!
  • It's going to give me nightmares!  There is some other similar foliage elsewhere that looks meadowy rather than creepy so I'm hoping that it's meadow rather than creeping buttercup.  Prefer the sound of meadow buttercup!
