This is my favourite plant in my garden, multi stemmed Prunus Serrula. I love the way that gorgeous bark peels off and the way the sun shines through it. It's been in about 5/6 years and I think it's an ideal tree for a smaller garden as it's interesting all year round and the canopy in full leaf is not too dense. I would love to see what plants others have at the top of their list and why.
I think mine may have to be my Cape Mallow Anisodontia El Rayo: has not stopped flowering since May last year.
Apparently I have to prune it by half once frosts have past, then it’ll have a bit of a breather before romping back again. Seriously impressive endurance and the harsh winter didn’t even touch it. Oh, and the pollinators love it too.
There's one of those [Prunus] in a garden near me - single trunk, and has a dominant position in a fairly large, shrub filled border. Always lovely when I pass it. I think I have a pic of it somewhere, but I'm always very careful about taking photos of someone else's plants. Like @philippasmith2 , my favourites change throughout the year, and even on a more regular basis depending on how I'm feeling. Many of the clematis I grow are real favourites for me
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
My fav plant is probably a rose inherited with the garden. I may have killed it but I hope I can chivvy it this year to get back to floriferous glory again. It's the most lovely deep clotted cream and heavenly scent. No name.
My favourites are my roses, I have quite a lot, probably followed by my clematis, though I really like my Alstromeria "Indian Summer". It flowers all summer to the autumn.
@dappledshade my daughter gave me a Cape Mallow Anisodontia for Christmas. It was in flower. I read that it was tender but daughter says hers is fine in the winter. Glad to hear yours is too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Cream Beauty is one of my favourite crocus @punkdoc. A new batch, in a pot, are just starting to flower -in the last few days or so. I regularly lose them, so I buy a new batch every few years. Snow Bunting is also lovely, and they're popping up now too

My two main favourites are camellias and rhododendrons. I’ve always loved them, but have never lived anywhere with the right soil. After moving here almost twenty years ago, into a garden with scores of specimen rhododendrons and plenty of camellias, it’s still like being in heaven!

I think other mallows are tender, but this one appears to be bombproof.
