What bird makes a really loud single cheep?

    No that's not it. It's a single loud cheep with a space before the next one. Louder and ' fruitier ' than a sparrow but the same kind of thing. @Ladybird4

    I heard a similar sound, and my bird-watching mate said it was a great tit

    Coal tits have a very loud cheep - considering their tiny size. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    If it had been a little later in the year I would have said possibly a baby wren as they can produced a phenomenal sound for such a tiny scrap.

    I'm wondering if it was a blackbird. Maybe it was trying out a new song🤔 .I tried to download Merlin a while back but it didn't work for a reason I can't remember.
    Saw a wren this morning. Very loud but not it.
    Do you get coal tits in London?
