GARDENERS' WORLD 2024

AnniDAnniD Posts: 12,585
No, not the start of a new series just yet, but another 4 "specials" that l believe are compilations from last year's series.

A heads up that the first is on BBC 2 next Friday at 8pm.

"The team celebrate the joy that gardens and gardening can bring."  :)

    Thank you @AnniD.
I think the new Gardeners' World starts in mid-March.

Can't wait for the return of GW, I've  missed the Friday night programme.

Fridays aren’t the same without my weekly fix, and people moaning about Monty ( may they be struck down )
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

    S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
  • I get my fix via the Roku Channel App; they have a Gardening with Monty Don channel in their lineup.  It includes his garden specials, Gardeners' World programs, and his series Big Dreams, Small Spaces and My Dream Farm.  Monty 24/7/365!  :)  Enough to tide me over until this year's series begins.
    New England, USA
Metacomet soil with hints of Woodbridge and Pillsbury
  • Some can't differentiate between the person and the type of gardening. Others do.
     :)

    I my garden.

I like Monty himself, he seems a gentle caring sort of person, but, for my taste, I think his garden is too hemmed in with tall hedges. But it's his garden so he can choose how he wants it.

    How times change.

In 1897 children were instructed in the ways of botany and gardening thus:

Compare and contrast with today’s approach on television and so on.

Which is better do you think?

As a new member of this forum and someone who is unfamiliar with its ways could someone please elucidate for me the meaning of a Flag?

Someone has given my first contribution to this forum a Flag and since there is already an opportunity for readers to Like a person’s comments I rather feel that a Flag is not complimentary to the writer.

If so could the Flagger please explain to me what exactly it was that I said that was abusive or unpleasant or irrelevant to a gardening forum in some way?

Is one not permitted to quote from outside publications such as the Gutenberg library? The Gutenberg library has always provided me with a treasure trove of free books that I would otherwise never have read.

I await an explanation from someone anyone as to what this Flag signifies.

    Many thanks for reading this.
