backyard

why are there never any garden programmes about  backyards lots of people have them but no one tells them what they can do with their back yard i would love some programmes  on the subject with new ideas

    Where is your home? “Backyard” suggests you’re in USA, “programme” suggests you’re not. If you are UK based there are the obvious options of Gardeners’ World, Beechgrove and various makeover programmes. There is also a slew of advice on YouTube but I don’t use that so can give no recommendations.

    What kind of "back yard" do you mean? Paved, shared, a kind of "area" as they used to call it? Like the pic?

    I agree that these kind of plots  are rarely featured in make over programmes. 

    What is the budget like and how much sun does it get? Is the floor concrete?

    Do you have potted plants outside, @bluefly? If so, what are you growing?  I would go with the biggest planters you can find, to save on watering!

    the floor is flagged with some decking and the budget is not to good i have a lot of sun in the summer when we get it but also a lot of shade

    Are you able to lift any of the flagstones and cultivate some of the soil? Are you wanting colourful flowers this summer? What are your goals?
