I’m not surprised @Balgay.Hill … however  I’m sure you didn’t mean it to be offensive … quoting out of context can be dangerous.

It was from a famous scene in Dads Army from Lance Corporal Jones!
    You mentioned bayonets..... :D

For crying out loud!!!  Somebody, or some bot, takes offence at anything and everything these days.  If you try to mention a male chicken it's replaced by exclamation marks.  If you tried to mention a certain town roughly equidistant from Doncaster and Grimsby the system would probably go into meltdown. :D
  • I recognised it … still offensive when out of context tho’. 😞

it wasn’t really acceptable even back then was it .., it was an example of outdated and unacceptable attitudes and that was why it was put in the mouth of that character.

But let’s return to ailing cacti …

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Nothing wrong with the word Cock - the list of meanings and phrases which include this word are many and varied. Male chicken is listed but the "other one" isn't  :D
At the risk of causing a meltdown @KT53 which town are you referring to ?  You can use some  ***'s but at least give me a clue  :D
  • The water is being muddied … 🙄

Indeed, sunny Scunny. I worked there for 25 years, OH was born there.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • I guess I missed  the vital post - apologies  :)

As for water being muddied, not surprising given the excess rainfall -  certainly not good for Cacti  ;)

Thanks @B3 and @JennyJ for Scunthorpe - never occurred to me  :D
