They [camassias] certainly don't come through this early here. I even looked yesterday just to check! They're hard to miss when they do though - I have quite a large area of them in one or two corners of a border. They're mixed in with shrubs and other moisture loving planting like Acteas, Jap. anemones and Dicentras etc. No chance of me standing on them when they come through as I have no real need to go into that border at that time of year
My daffs are all later flowering types too [mid April to May] but I do see some coming through in other gardens, mainly ones which are earler flowering types, or those in gardens where it's clear that extra organic matter isn't added regularly, so the emerging shoots are more visible.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
My bluebell shoots are appearing already. I think the persistent rain plus mild temperatures has confused things and spring will come early unless we have a prolonged cold spell. I have a couple of primroses in flower too and the odd bit of colour on veronica Georgia.
Some belated proof of my Camassia December growth. Tough plants, really, since they have started showing growth despite being generously trampled when I erected a new trellis to plant my new Rosa DA 'The Generous Gardener'.😳
@Papi Jo Visited David Austin for the first time this year. The roses were at their peak. One stood out to me above all the other it was The Generous Gardener. It wasn't a rose I knew but because I was so drawn to it I checked the label.
@Simone_in_Wiltshire I hope you are recovering. I planted some Galanthus this Autumn probably not the best idea but I hope to see some of them survive this spring. Not a good time to plant but no alternative due to house move. I hope to get something even if it is just some leaves and I am sure they will be late. I do have some snowdrops showing through elsewhere in the garden, always a welcome.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Different bulb plants need different time from start to flower. Daffs need only 3 months but bluebells need 5 months. My ones also started last week.
They stop growing when it’s cold.
Usually the bluebells give me time to gather the oak leaves before they pop up, which is very wise of them as they risk being trodden on otherwise. 😁 This yr, the oak leaves are late falling and the bluebells are early rising. I am having to tiptoe about with great caution.
@GardenerSuze I’m awaiting the second operation early January if the bone has healed something I will learn in 2 weeks time. Since I stopped do the exercises, I have far less pain around the metal and do a lot of the usual work even cut the Wild Geraniums and felt life coming back.
Good luck @ViewAhead. Here in Wiltshire is everything on time. I’m also upset when dogs rage the nearby woods in the park nearby.
I get so much energy just from observing the bulbs like snowdrops and crocuses, then the daffs. Best time of the year when I can look forward rather than back in late summer.
@georgeh1967718749 sorry I found no other pictures of that plant. It’s one of those that are always there and we take them for granted. I will post one here in May.
@Simone_in_Wiltshire, Glad you are recovering from your nasty accident and beginning to enjoy gardening again. I've done some today which cheered me up. I've also seen snowdrops coming through but must check on the bluebells, covered in leaves at the moment.
