@tina_harrison12 the problem with items sold by volume is that most compress when transported as the air tends to be knocked out of them, and moisture levels may reduce also. That's less of an issue with something like pumice which is solid than it is with compost or coir. If you look on bags of compost at garden centres they do say 'x' litres when packed.
Half the expected volume is a lot of compression. You could send the seller your pics and see what happens. If they don't respond it might be time to cut your losses and stop ordering stuff from this seller. If they're on Facebook or other social media you could try there, sometimes making comments in a public space where their other customers can see them gets a better response, sometimes not.

It's not compression in my mind because why is pumice so under. And the bags are sealed, and there is no moisture inside. They just sent the wrong amounts.
If you really want to continue the fight, perhaps you could contact Trading Standards both for the underwight compost and possibly the quality of the plants received from both sources. It could make life more frustrating/stressful for you tho so given the amount of money and time you have spent on the issue so far, it may just be easier to use/revive what you do have and call it a day. As already mentioned, put both sellers names out on as many SM sites as posible. There is also a thread on this forum where you can name and shame or alternatively, name companies which have provided good products and customer service. Best of luck whichever avenue you decide to go down
On the tropical plants that arrived in a poor state, a specialist grower should know better than to send them out in cold weather when they're going to be spending some time in the back of a lorry/van getting chilled. Of course they might not have been great to begin with. If that seller is offering stuff cheaper than other suppliers and at a time of year that other sellers of similar plants aren't offering them for sale, that's a bit suspicious in itself. Personally I wouldn't worry about annoying these people by complaining, asking for them to send what you ordered or a refund, because I wouldn't be putting any more custom their way!

I'm guessing this is Etsy? I've had some mixed experiences with sellers on there. Generally you are better off with a proper retailer. Cowell's is one of the best I've found, and good value.
