Rose growing too vigorous

Hi I purchased a couple of climbing roses to go either side of a wooden arch and over the top. The arch is 2 meters high. I chose the Alchymist rose from Peter Beales as it says it grows to around 3.6 meters high, which I thought would be about right to go over the top of the arch.
CraighB Do you have any pictures of your Alchymist on the arch please?

I was about to plant 2 on my metal arch (cemented in the ground) but would like to see how yours turned out.

    Thanks

Hi sorry I don't have a photo of it I'm afraid. But it just didn't look very pretty at all. Just big stems sprawling everywhere..nothing like what you imagine when you think of a lovely rose arch. Maybe on a large wall it might have looked better.

And I would be careful of a metal arch depending on what kind of metal it is because ours was metal and it rusted so fast and then it snapped. So I built a wooden one which is so strong now.
