State of the art at the time cookery room. We used it for a half term. We were not going to be typists so  we never learnt to type.  We had another half term of sewing..
In that half term, the teacher managed to teach us the absolute basics of baking. Shortcrust, choux etc. We made a disgusting blancmange thing but I learnt how to make a basic white sauce. Even the birds wouldn't eat my bread . I've improved since then.
It's all very well for those of you that learnt to cook and sew at your mother's knee but some of us really benefited from the little we were  taught in the short time available before we moved on to Latin.

I use 3m book tape to repair the kids books. Many are 2nd or 3rd hand so they need a few running repairs. The last roll cost me £6.50 but I just went to order more and the cheapest I can find is £13. Amazon have it over £16 a roll :o
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Bought a packet of biscuits that I was quite fond of.   They used to be stacked in the packet horizontally - 3 to a heap. Not only are they smaller but they are leaning like this in the box \\\\\\\. .  I'll check out the Lidl and aldi versions . Maybe they aren't cheating. If not, I'll do without.
