    ...except me, @Fire .  I'm definitely not growing...   ;)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Like most alliums, they work best massed. They look good growing through other plants, as Lunar say. This year I had them through Salvia Blue Note, which I liked a lot.

Salvia blue note, are you sure?

Ah, photo not from this year. Above it is growing with disascia. I quite like the leaning - they look like little garden creatures intently listening.

Last autumn I also planted SC in full sun in sand and I will be very interested to see how/if it returns next year.

Should I be expecting to see these popping up yet?

Bit concerned that after a very wet winter they might have rotted away.
One did come up almost immediately after planting due I suppose to the mild autumn, but none of the others are showing.

Yes, they should definitely have shoots well above ground by now. They often come up shortly after planting, whilst other come through in the new year.

Oh, that's a shame. Guess I must have lost them then 😕

It's been so wet though hasn't it. Mine are in a reasonably well-drained bed and most seem to have survived but my wife planted some last autumn in a less drained bed and quite a few have disappeared. Don't give up though - they're well worth another go :)

Maybe try them in pots next time and add lots of grit.

Allium are probably my garden slugs' top go-to plant on the menu. They get slathered with slugs.

I planted some last year. A few were floppers but most were upright and some to almost 3ft.
Bees loved them and a few butterflies too, that's what i liked most about them.

I've just seen Ronnie O'Sullivan at the garden center. I think he was eyeing up a plant.

@Fire that was my original question, whether to do them in pots first or straight in the ground 🙈 wish I had potted them now, they weren't cheap from my local GC.

I'll probably leave them in the ground on the off chance they still come up. But it's sort of ruined my planting scheme for that area and I can't redo them until autumn. Damn rain 😡
