    @noxon Viburnums are such a large and diverse family of shrubs that tolerate most types of soil. V Tinus seems to be the one most affected by beetle but I assume there are others. Perhaps the evergreen Viburnums are more vulnerable as there is a place to overwinter? I would not discount all Viburnums. I do agree an infestation is very unpleasent. The life cycle needs to be interrupted in an effort to stop the problem. On a large plant not possible. I have dug one up for a client because the beetle was out of control.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
