Not particular bad here in East Devon , although OH was woken by thunder and lightning in the early hours. I was however, trying to get home from Exeter in the early afternoon, and it was chaotic in the city centre. Torrential rain, I got soaked just walking the few steps from the station to the bus stop outside. The bus ride was very scary, the roads were like rivers, and there was flooding at the bottoms of the many hills. Poor OH had to drive partway to collect me ( no public transport in our village on Sundays) and we could hardly have a conversation on the way home over the sound of the windscreen wipers on maximum speed. Luckily, all the drivers were being very sensible for once, main beam and fog lights on, keeping to half the speed limit and generally being very careful. Mind you, the rain was so bad, they probably didn’t have much choice. All the lay-bys off the dual carriageway were packed out, presumably by drivers who had decided that it wasn’t worth the risk not to wait it out. Usual puddle on the patio, where the soak away hadn’t! Otherwise, it could have been worse, and we’ve had a lot worse in the recent past. They are only now getting round to patching the potholes caused by a deluge during the summer, which left some of the local roads looking like an obstacle course.
@Ergates. Did you see the flooding in Dawlish on tonight’s news, everywhere covered in red soil. Gardens destroyed, furniture floating, it will take some clearing. We were lucky here, Just a few flashes, couple of days ordinary rain.

I saw that Lynn on the online news. Unbelievable! We visited Dawlish a year or so ago and thought how pretty the town was with the river running down to the sea. Do I remember rightly it had some black swans there - I hope they survived.
We caught the worst of the storm in 2007 so can sympathise. I was driving home from my brother's house and the road runs across a hill, about half way down. There was thick muddy water running over the road. I got through but phoned my wife to warn her to use a different route home. In the end, as I think I've mentioned before, her 10 mile journey took 5 hours.
yeah, very very wet here on Sunday. I'm not scared of thunder particularly but a couple of the lightning strikes were rather too close for comfort while we were out walking the dogs. No flooding in the house, thankfully, and it's a pale shadow of what happened in Libya

We have a storm at the moment. Pouring rain and howling hooley. Not particularly cold but awful. Every time we have a storm I think there cannot be any trees left to blow down but I am always wrong, our lane was blocked a few weeks ago when a tree blew down from the hedge.
It’s on its way up to us @Joyce Goldenlily no thunder yet though so must be better than you’ve had. Heavy rain and wind, May unplug the router and phone just in case.

We haven't had any thunder or lightning locally, I saw lightning in the distance, over the sea. There was bad thunder and lightning on the North coast last week. Obviously very localised. Today, at the moment, it is still, a blue sky with broken cloud. I am not sure how long it will last. Very soggy underfoot.
