Hot drinks, for me, are purely medicinal and drunk only to alleviate symptoms of a cold.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • I’m not really fussy.  Decent tea bags (Yorkshire, M&S),  water from tap into electric kettle until the water reaches a wild boil - it splutters as I pour it into a mug.  A dash of milk.

most important for me is to drink it HOT.  Too many years in a busy office, desk littered with cups half full with cold tea & coffee with a film on the top due to lime build up in a kettle that was never descaled 😱

But we all know not to judge a book by its cover don’t we? Appearances can be deceptive 😉

I ate some once. I think snot could not be any more unpleasant.
    Devon.
  • Food of the gods @Hostafan1 … love ‘em 😋

At the third reading, I realised that it wasn't snot that you had eaten. @Hostafan1
There was always some grubby little boy at school who would surreptitiously flick some into his mouth. Hand in front of face, quick snake tongue flick of the little finger.

  • Can I add a slab of Guernsey Gache, topped with lashings of real salty, golden Guernsey butter.

I trained as a Home Economics teacher in a college left over from the debutante's era. We were taught that "a proper sandwich" should have a filling equal to the amount of bread, with the crust removed of course. Afternoon tea would only be served in a bone china tea service, little finger crooked.

The crusts are the best bit!

That depends on the type of loaf …

Indeed. I'm talking about homemade bread.

  • Also damask napkins, a lacy white tablecloth and a tea cosy. Butler and/or maid optional. Diddy sized sandwiches and cakes so One did not have to open One's mouth too wide to eat them.
