I don’t drink milk on its own,  think it stems back to school milk,  warm and slightly off in the summer,  frozen in the winter.
My mum used to buy Steralised in the summer as it didn’t go off so quickly and we didn’t have a fridge.   I can still smell it now 🤢🤮

When I have stomach pains I drink milk shakes,  fortunately now I’m not buzzing around here there and everywhere at 100 MPH I don’t get them anymore.
What I do have now is fully skimmed,  no fat or that creamy taste and extra calcium.
Do like a bit of Rodda’s though.

Same here @Lyn tho I did have silver top on cereal and in tea.  We switched to semi-skimmed UHT in Belgium as they just don't know how to store pasteurised milk and it was always off when we first tried it there.  Same in France.

These days I drink tisanes so no milk but OH and Possum have it on their cereal and in tea.

Haven't had evaporated milk since I was a teenager and yes, one school cookery recipe involved frothed up EM with dissolved orange jelly cubes then, when set, decorated with tinned mandarins.  Yuk!

Only discovered condensed milk when I first made a Banoffee Pie about 30 years ago.

We only had desert on a Sunday when I was a child,  it mostly consisted of a tin of peaches and Ideal milk.
I bought a tin of caramelised condensed the other day with the thought of making one of those gooey tray bakes with chocolate on the top.  It’s still in the cupboard 😀

That bath does look a bit like a horse trough! Not sure I’d appreciate that strategically placed full length mirror either. We had a deep pink bathroom suite in our first home, which I hated. No hankerings for any of the coloured fittings.
  • I don't like it either @Ergates.  Even a horse trough would be a challenge for me at 6 ft 4 ins!

Our  last house had a Harvest Gold bathroom suite which we lived with until we moved because we couldn't afford to replace it. To be honest l didn't mind the colour too much, it was the matching tiles that covered the walls from floor to ceiling that tipped me over the edge.

    The ensuite was turquoise. Yuk.

When we moved here l could choose the colour l wanted, so being a womant of sophisticated taste l selected light grey for the bathroom, ensuite and downstairs loo.
Ten years ago it was all ripped out and replaced with white.

Will coloured bathroom suites ever return?

I hope so. We like cream or champagne (foodie theme here), but not avocado or plum.

The first house we bought together (1988) was a new build and we were allowed to select bathrooms and kitchens from a limited range.
I pleaded for basic white suites but was told (quite firmly) by the developers that nobody wanted boring white anymore and I had to have coloured fittings. (they probably got them cheap from the merchant as they were going out of fashion even then).
The nearest I could get to white were honeysuckle (very pale yellow - cloakroom) and whisper grey (bathroom and en-suite).
It was never what I wanted and we also had to have the rooms fully tiled (didn't want that either...) - in matching tiles😩
The only room we could afford to change was the ensuite. Installed an all-white suite with huge shower. Oversized tiles in the cubicle and round the basin - rest of walls plastered and painted in a nice colour. Looked so much better - all positive comments when we came to sell.

I've got a couple of those on the pantry - bought when they were on specials in Aldi with a similar intention. Haven't got around to it, and we're both supposed to be trying to lose some weight, so they'll be sitting there for a while longer.
