    See @Liriodendron. It's a total PITA

I planted some in my meadow and it died...
    That's the ticket @Liriodendron!
I'm definitely putting it in now! I have a wild flower border (slight exaggeration there...it's not even started yet) and I have all sorts of nonsense gathered up for it. Hawkweed, both orange and yellow are going in. If they die, they die. 🤣

If they don't you'll wish they had.

  • We have some appear in the garden over the last few years - for us it behaves well, doesn't disappear, and doesn't take over...

Well you see @B3 I've been thinking. They grow on the verges round here and there's just the odd one or two. There was a little clump on the bank at the church but it got cleared by the men doing something and never came back. It doesn't exactly seem rampant. I have a little patch beside the pond where some fell out of the aforementioned pot but that's all.
    Now sowthistle...that's a whole nuther matter! 🤯

It's everywhere round here on verges etc. I love it  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

So do I, @Fairygirl - but it clearly doesn't love me...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

We've had a little patch of it on our south facing rocky bank forever (about 40 years) and it's been perfectly well behaved.
Last year a bit seeded into the gravel below and the resulting plants are greener, larger and appear more likely to pose a threat if left in situ. These ones are to be transplanted to the meadow where they will have a real fight on their hands!
