I take it, from the deafening silence, that no-one has yet discovered a decent product. I have some cat scarers (https://www.amazon.co.uk/PestBye-Ultrasonic-Operated-Activated-Repellent/dp/B00FXSU2WK/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=ultrasonic+cat+scarer&qid=1693489861&sr=8-6) and have seen one animal flinch when walking past but the blasted creatures still infest the garden and I have to employ other tactics as well.

  • Yes CATWatch via RSPB site for me, over 4 weeks and all clear so far.

The RSPB one has been excellent for me. It takes a while for the cats to recognise the source of the discomfort. I have two and triangulate over an area. Move them around regularly. Make sure vegetation is not blocking the sensor. I recomm the mains power version if you can swing it, as the battery powered one can run out without notice.

The devices have completely changed my garden - esp overwinter, when there is little gardening activity and it used to turn into one big, foul cat toilet.  The RSPB offer a long, no quibble guarantee (two years I think).
  • They've all been usless for me. The B&M cat granules that smell of citrus have worked best for me but have to keep reapplying every few times that it rains. The ultraonic ones have been useless.

The sonics are not a "quck fix". They can take a few months to start to have the desired effect and to shift them around so that they are doing the job properly. As with most tech, it takes a while to figure it out.
