  yes i can do that but it was delivered in a put about 30cm diameter . should i really be opting for one twice as wide ?

  The pots plants are in at the garden centre/nursery aren’t the ones to grow them in.  Think of the increased costs for the vendor,
  
  a bigger pot costs more
  
  more compost to fill bigger pot costs more
  
  more compost weighs more so costs more to handle and transport
  
  a bigger pot takes up more space ‘on the shelf’ so fewer plants can be displayed for sale 
  
  etc etc etc

  Your tree will need the space as its roots grow so it will need a very big pot as Dove says.
  The one on Amazon is unavailable, but the same pot can be bought direct for the same price inc. P&P
