    Here is a baby poking through the gravel.


    Looks more like a seedling to me. 

    Triffid?

    1. Grow it on for a while.

    2.  Pull it up immediately.

    Without knowing the actual size,  I’d go with Sulpher cosmos as well. 

    Did the OP buy any of those seeds? 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
