  • Yes these things do happen  never used to but Mr F went down hill  I would have liked for a explaination on how this happend. However they have not done so. I grew quite a few of the seeds for my self and friends.
  • I think the may not be in a position to give you an explanation. It could be a number of reasons, contaminated seeds/packing error/labeling error etc. I would guess they will be glad to of heard from you as it helps them put a bigger picture together should they have received other complaints of a similar nature. This may then lead them to the root cause. But sometimes sh!t happens.
I understand your frustration though after sowing and nurturing only to get something completly different. For what its worth I have used Dt Brown's for years  (part of same group) and been happy with them.
  • The entitlement to get answers is a little bit much for a £2 packet of seed. Can we please do a reality check and realise that mix ups happen and frankly you still got properly edible tomatoes. No massive drama. Plus with ongoing breeding maybe try a newer variety that may have better attributes for our changing climate.

For instance I rather love Shimmer and they're very recent as a variety the nonsense with heirloom varieties is just snobbery most of the time and a reflection of some regressive rose tinted ideas of some glorious gardening of the past.
