BenCotto fine will  post the links since you obviously can't find them.
Thanks @war garden 572. I’ve got to go to the shops soon. Should I wait in to see your post or will it appear later today?

    Just a little observation @war garden 572

Pruning or trimming back - big difference.

You can only prune a plant/tree when it's dormant.  You can trim plants, (including vegetable plants)  hedges, trees willy nilly.  I am about to trim my grape vines as they are very prolific  but I prune my grape vines in winter
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • I summer prune my apple trees and quince in July/August to restrict growth, height and spread. Winter pruning is for fruiting. I "prune" dig up, pull up or pick my fruit and veg. during the growing season because I want to eat them.
  • And what vegetables plants are we obsessed with pruning then lad ?

Forget tomatoes and peppers because they’re fruits not vegetables. To be honest the same could be said for squash but I’ll let you have that one.

So can you provide evidence that UK gardeners are obsessed with pruning beans and squash.

Saying ‘It wasn’t me, guv’ does not constitute a defence.
