Wisteria Sinensis Standard Advice Please

    Hi @Obelixx - Thank you...  I was hoping you would comment as I can see you have amazing wisteria and have been so helpful to others...  is it about here right to cut here, or closer to the node?

    Just above the node.  Leaving a short stalk invites die-back.

    @Janie B Just checked out the post. Your standard is absolutely lovely.  Can you remember the length of the vine when you topped it off? It’s hard to tell in pics. And did it then gain height or does it ultimately reduce it because of the flowers - hope that makes sense.

    I bought it as a standard about 10 or so years ago, so didn't have to worry about chopping off the top. It's definitely bushed out since I bought it, but it seems to have settled where it is for the last couple of years. My OH gives it the twice yearly prune when he does the ordinary wisteria on the house ... seems to work (so long as I feed/water à la @Obelixx!)
