I would imagine a forum like this costs a fair bit to run and as a result the adverts keep it available for free. The decision to runs ads at the expense of a few people leaving is more than worth it for the people behind the site. I just don't look at the adverts.

Th ads are there but I don't 'see' them unless they are the drop down rolling ones, in which case they psss me off so much, I boycott the perpetrator.

I’ve not been able to sign in for several days now, off and on. Today I, too, got the demand message that I turn off my adblocker. No way!

Checked  all my settings, all ok, totally fed up and was ready to leave forum when, as a last ditch attempt, I resorted to switching off my tablet, waiting, then switching it back on again.

At the moment I can now sign in as usual with no message asking me to disable my adblocker. I’ll wait and see what tomorrow brings…

Is it browser question? I get nothing on Firefox. Is it perhaps different on Safari or Google Chrome?

I’m on Safari on my iphone … no demands and virtually no ads. There does seem to be the occasional one now that I ‘look’ but TBH I just don’t ‘see’ them.

I’ll get my MacBook out tomorrow and see what’s happening on there.

@nutcutlet,  can you take a screen shot when it happens again.
I think it’s just a cast of clearing cookies & browsing  history,  can’t be too sure though.

I've donned my tinfoil hat before I say this, but I think it's a bit dishonest to use the site for nothing  while blocking their source of revenue. That being said, I also ignore the ads.
