What are the longest flowering plants for a pond about the size of a half barrel? (It's not a barrel). UK. Under 60cm or so in height. Thanks

Not sure there is one that fits your question but then others may have the answer.

Water buttercups have been flowering here for several months and look like they will continue fir a while yet. Quite small flowers so not big on impact, but may be more so in a small pond. Might not get to the height you want, ours are around 30cm

Lesser spearwort seems to flower all summer in our little wildlife pond. It can spread but doesn’t mind being chopped back.

I have the white forget me not in my pond, but there's also a blue one. It does spread [like the more common 'ground dwelling' ones!] but easy enough to pull out. It's been flowering for many weeks, and still going.
Mine is a good bit taller than most sites state.

    Anything under 6ocm is good.

    Thanks for the suggestions

Is there any way to order plants like hornwort and to ensure that we don't import blanketweed etc in the pond?

I understand that regular cannas can enjoy sitting in ponds. I thought I might try it.

I've used Devon Pond Plants and Waterside as well as Puddleplants for pond plants. Both have been very reliable. I've used others but can't remember the names.

You're likely to get some blanketweed whatever you do, so there's no point worrying too much about it.

    Another vote for Puddleplants.
Reasonable prices and very good quality.

Blanketweed (algae) will just appear if conditions suit it so there are no concerns about importing it.
