How far apart to place marigolds?

    I would plant dwarf french marigolds 15cm (6 inches ) apart. They then knit together to give a complete cover.

    Some I grew one year. I just crammed them in,

    Some 50 odd years ago I used to grow bedding plants and sell to neighbours for pocket money.  One had a strip at the side of her path. I smothered it with dwarf french marigolds , 6 inch apart, and was paid the princely sum of a shillling a dozen.  It did look good when they all came out., about 8 yards long and a yard wide.
